As the innovation and entrepreneurship hub of Westminster International University in Tashkent, INNOWIUT actively contributes to national priorities by cultivating entrepreneurial talent, empowering researchers and students, and connecting innovative ideas with industry, investors, and society.

The Presidential Resolution PQ-59 (11 February 2026) introduced a comprehensive national ecosystem for supporting startups, strengthening cooperation between universities, research institutions, investors, government agencies, and the private sector. Official document available here.

The Presidential Resolution PQ-357 (14 October 2024) focuses on expanding venture financing, improving investment mechanisms, supporting innovative enterprises, and creating favourable conditions for startup growth. The objectives of this resolution closely reflect INNOWIUT's mission to prepare investment-ready startups, facilitate mentoring, and build partnerships with investors and industry. The Presidential Decree PF-165 (6 July 2022) approved Uzbekistan's Innovation Development Strategy for 2022–2026, identifying innovation, scientific research, technology transfer, and startup development as national priorities. INNOWIUT contributes to these objectives by encouraging interdisciplinary research, supporting innovation projects, and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among students and researchers. The accompanying Presidential Resolution PQ-307 (6 July 2022) established the organisational framework for implementing the Innovation Development Strategy, promoting collaboration between universities, industry, research institutions, and government organisations. Innovation today is inseparable from digital technologies. Uzbekistan's digital transformation agenda has significantly expanded opportunities for technology entrepreneurship and digital innovation. INNOWIUT supports these ambitions by encouraging digital product development, AI applications, technology-based entrepreneurship, and collaboration with the national innovation ecosystem.

In addition to the national strategies governing innovation and entrepreneurship, Uzbekistan has introduced sector-specific initiatives that promote startup development across priority industries and among young entrepreneurs. These initiatives create additional opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and commercialization.
